Blog Post #9
Take a moment to describe the main character of your book. Introduce him/her to the blog. How do you envision him/her? What physical characteristics does he/she possess? What personality traits does he/she have? What does he/she use for motivation in your book? How does he/she interact with those around him/her? What does your main character add to the story? If this person truly existed in your world, would you hang out with him/her? Would you even like this person? When writing responses to the blogs of others, please try to make connections with the character or characters from your book.
Evie is the main character of my book. She is a sixteen year old, blonde girl. She is very fit girl who is nice to everyone she meets. However that trait is a dangerous trait in the world that she is in. there are very few girls left in this post apocalyptic and most people are now slavers, military, or cannibals. Through out the book she is slowly changing to get used to this new world and becoming tougher to survive. She has a small group of friends at this point who are protecting her, but are getting annoyed at her softness. if Evie was a person in real life she would be just like one of the popular girls at high school. I would like this person but i would not hang out with her often.
ReplyDeletethat sounds really interesting
Deletesounds like a crazy book! I wonder how her protection is going to act later in the book, maybe they will try to kill her...
DeleteYour character sounds very nice and out going. She sounds really important to the book and it wouldn't be the same without her.
DeleteWow this sounds like a strange book! with everything going on it would be hard to keep that personality. i guess from what it sounds like she is just trying to make the best of the situation.
DeleteWhat i think is crazy is that is how our world is today. We are all raised up in this small town area, we havent really seen how violent this world really is, Eventually we will become like that and we will see what the world is really like, We will have to either become tough or get kicked in the curb in life.
DeleteYour character sounds like she's out going and would do anything. It sounds like without her the story wouldn't be the same
DeleteSounds cool, I;ve always liked books and movies with post apocalyptic settings.
DeleteDoes she have any parents to look out for her or is she all alone, and that's why she needs to become so much tougher?
DeleteMy main characters name is Anonymous, he is mid 30's with no hair and is a bad dude. Like a sincerely bad dude. He is an alcoholic who enjoys hurting women because he had a bad childhood. If he existed in the real world I would avoid him at all costs. He's a sadistic and boring prick and I truly don't think there is anything endearing about him whatsoever. Having a bad past does not give you a free pass for being an ass to every female you meet ever. Go to counseling, distract yourself.
ReplyDeletethat sounds really interesting marcus
Deletesounds very interesting did the book tell you what girls did to him as a child? this is what usually leads to abuse in women.
DeleteMy main character also had a bad childhood growing up, but he didn't let that affect him. He is very nice to everyone he encounters that isn't his family.
DeleteMy main characters best friend had a similar childhood. His dad is now in jail but his siblings are starting to follow in his footsteps.
DeleteMy main character is also having a rough patch in his child hood, im wondering if it will have any long term affects on the kind of person he is. your character i would agree should be avoided at all costs.
DeleteI agree your main character should probably go to counseling, but it sounds like he is way past the point of counseling at this point because he should have gotten help a long time ago.
DeleteI agree with that, That is not a reason to do that, but if it happened to him, then that is the only way he knows how to act. I think about his family, when he was growing up he saw how he was treated from his dad, or his family, so he knows how he should treat others
DeleteHe sounds like the Author in my book. However Author takes the torture one step farther though. i agree with you wanting to avoid them at all costs, but i would feel much better if they were in prison.
DeleteI've read this book, and I completely agree. It's not right for him to play on their emotions just because his own mentality is messed up.
DeleteDear Marcus,
DeleteI agree with you, people like that should be avoided. Just because you went through hardship, doesn't give you the right to ruin other people's lives. Even though your character is a horrible human being, I hope you're enjoying the novel.
my main character is Lester (Apollo) he is turned into a 16 year old teenager not very muscular. he is really cocky he thinks that he is the greatest at everything that he is better than everyone else that all the girls should be falling in love with him that when people see him he should get a shrine built in his name when the truth is that hes not really that great now that he is a mortal.
ReplyDeleteWait what do you mean he is a mortal? Is this story about more than just a normal world? Does it consist of paranormal things or mythological things? I'm just curious, a little confused.
DeleteIt sounds like Zeus's lesson to him is starting to take affect. Is he starting to learn about humility or any other important lessons yet? your book sounds like a good mythological book that i would enjoy reading.
DeleteMy main character is Noah. He is a gentle kind man that loves his lover Allie with all his heart. SO the story is Allie comes from a different world than Noah. She is more rich than Noah and Noah is lower class. Allie lies to her family that whole summer her and Noah were together because her family would not approve. Allie leaves after that summer and Noah writes to her every day because the love for her is so strong. So basically Allie returns and ends up loving Noah more than her fiance. Noah's motivation is just to make Allie happy and spend a great life with one another. Noah has been really distant with everyone ever since Allie left, he only wants her. I would definitely would hang out with Noah he knows how to treat a women. I can relate to Noah and Allie with my friend who is deeply in love with a guy and they write letters back and forth just like Noah and Allie.
ReplyDeleteNoah seems really nice and a good guy even though he is lower class then Ali. He is a super amazing person though, he is really nice to Ali so I agree he is a gentle man.
Deletenoah sounds like a great guy and allies parents should let the be together
DeleteNoah sounds like a genuine person. i think i would definitely be friends with him because of his loyalty.
DeleteMy main characters are from two different worlds as well. Miles is from a two parents home with a handful of money. Alaska lost her mom and avoids visiting her dad. Miles loves Alaska and wants to make her happy. Miles also lies to some of his friends and family about Alaska.
DeleteNoah does seem like a genuine person. I also believe that I will be friends with Noah because of his loyalty and motivation towards everything.
DeleteI've read this book and it's everything anybody wants to find in a relationship. Noah knows it's going to be a challenge but his unconditional love to Allie makes those obstacles seem like no big deal.
DeleteI've read this book and watching how Noah's love for her never died is amazing. He wasn't afraid to let her know she has always been the one even if they come from two different classes/ worlds.
Deletethe character in my book is named Elie Wiesel he is a 15 year old boy. Everyday he finds a new challenge he has to overcome and his one motivation that gets him through everyday is his father who he spends most of his time with in the book night. If he wasnt in this book i dont think it would be as good because he is just a child, it is a lot more interesting to see how a child reacts to this type of an environment and how hard he fights just to make it through every single day.
ReplyDeleteI read this book for our last book, and yeah he is pretty motivated by his father.... for now. But, as you continue the entire story only gets more heartbreaking; I wont spoil anything just warning you in advance.
Deletethat is a good book and like crystal said alot will change in it with his relationship that he has with is father
DeleteI also read this book and I agree with you, I don't think it would be as interesting as if it was told by an adult. The fact that it was told by a younger person you can relate it to yourself.
DeleteThis book sounds really good. It is interesting to see the perspective of a kid and shows just how much they try to make it. That is great that he can overcome the challenges everyday.
DeleteI agree that it is interesting to see how a child reacts situations like these, especially because these aren't the most desirable challenges.
DeleteThis sounds very interesting! I can make a connection with my book because everyday Hannah tries to find a clue as to why she is seeing people in her stepmothers new house which was a old school house.
DeleteI also am reading night and i agree its interesting to see how a child reacts to everything that s going on.
DeleteI really don't have a main character. My story is about the towns story of a werewolf, the story its self jumps from the different views of characters before they are killed on the night of the full moon... leaving the audience slightly confused and in mental pain trying to figure out who the werewolf is. You get the story from almost every single character in the town, and I would like to assume maybe the main character is the werewolf himself. But, the story gives us nothing about him other then the fact that he eats people; It is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book is Luke. He is very shy and keeps to himself. He doesn't really try to interact with others in the book because some of the other characters pick on him. He is special to this book because if he wasn't in it there would be no point because he is the illegal third child and that is why he tries to keep to himself and stay out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you character holds your book together if he wasn't in your book you would have no book but could you see yourself hanging out with Luke in real life.
DeleteThis book sounds good. He is probably shy because kids pick on him. But maybe if he talked to people they wouldnt pick on him.It sounds like he is very important in the book and if it was for him there wouldnt be a book.
DeleteMy main character is Dawson. He is about 30 years old and is still in love with high school girlfriend. I envision Dawson tall, skinny and with dark hair. So in my book there are flashbacks of when Dawson was in high school dating Amanda and present day when they find each other again. When there are flashbacks in my book he treats Amanda, his girlfriend in high school, very well. He's a gentleman. Dawson's motivation throughout the book is having a chance to get back together with Amanda, his one true love. Dawson is very nice to everyone he interacts with but not everyone is the same way to him. My main character makes the story interesting. I feel like I would not hang out with my main character because he is much older then me. I would like this person, but not hang out with them.
ReplyDeleteThe main character of my big is a dog who has many different lives throughout the book. In A Dogs Purpose the dog the dog is trying to find his purpose in life. He dies and is reborn and each story his different, he is a different breed and sometimes even a different gender. The interesting part is that he remember everything from his past lives. Right now, in the book he is on his 3rd life and I imagine his as a big dog who is a dark brown. Right now, he is a search dog with the police department. He is very smart and is also very playful. I would love to be friends with this dog because he cares very much about all of his owners. When they are sad he does everything he can to cheer them up and he has such love for each of them. He is a good girl.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book is also trying to find his purpose in life.
DeleteMy main character is slowly wondering what his purpose is in life. Weather or not he'll survive or even if it is worth it too. When people around Louie are ready to give up or are sad he does everything he can to motivate them and push them to want to live.
DeleteMy character is Noah and he was also looking for his purpose in life. He was at the war and has been through some family losses. But when Allie came back to him, he realized that Allie was his purpose in life and the life that they will live together.
DeleteThe main character in my book is named Greg. I imagine him having brown hair and being pretty tall. His personality is outgoing and friendly. Greg is supposed to befriend a girl with cancer, so his motivation is trying to make her last days as happy as possible. In Greg's school he interacts with everyone to achieve his goal of being apart of every group. He is a class clown who jokes 90% of the time. Greg adds sarcasm to the story along with the entire purpose of the story. If he was a real person and went to our school I would hang out with him because he seems cool.
ReplyDeleteYour book sounds very interesting to read. It would be interesting to see what someone would do to make someones last days as happy as possible.
DeleteI can relate Greg to Louie, Louie always tries his hardest to make the last days of those dying around him the best. And like Greg Louie has a sense of sarcasm its his way to be defiant in the POW camp.
DeleteGreg and my main character Miles seem to be very similar. They are for friendly and tall. Mile is always apart of a few groups of friends. He tries to associated with everyone. Mile also befriends a girl who ends up making his life hell.
DeleteThis book sounds very interesting but sad at the same time. you're character kind of reminds me of myself. I like to interact with a lot of people and have fun and joke around so I think I would like this book.
Deletethe main characater in my book blue lily lily blue . is blue .she is a very out going characater in a way but also a shy and timid characater as well. is this person existed in the real world i could see myself hanging out with her because she has kind of the same mind set about her outlook on life
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book is Danny. Danny is very odd he was unlike as a kid and when he got to high school he started selling cocaine. He made a good living off of selling drugs he has two houses is and then the one he got for his girlfriend. But now that he got caught by the cops he has change he still looks like a user and deader because hes missing teeth and has long straggle hair in a pony tail. If i ever met this man in real life i thing i would turn and run i would want nothing to do with a drug dealer or ex drug dealer.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that i also wouldn't want anything to do with a drug dealer. but other than that the book sounds interesting.
DeleteThe Main Character in my book is named Michael. He is a normal looking kid about 15 years old in the beginning so probably around 16-17 now. It says he is just like a normal highschooler, he has brown hair not to tall or short. When he was introduced in the beginning of the series it said he was out of shaped, but by now he is good. He is the leader of his group, he always tries to do what is best for his team, That is what makes him a great leader, He Adds in the whole plot line, He created this group from scratch, once his mother was taken from him, for no apparent reason, Ever since then he has been destroying power plants from the bad people and just crazy things happening. I think I would be friends with him. Although he wasnt one of the "cool" kids in school, I feel I get along with most people in the school, so it would not matter to me.
ReplyDeleteMy character is also a high schooler and seems to b very nice to everyone and gets along well with everyone.
DeleteSounds like a great leader and person to be around. My main character Walker is on the swimming team at his school and also tries to do what's best for the team to get himself and the team back to state. He also tries to be the best person he can be for his team and friends.
DeleteEarlier in my book, A Dogs Purpose, Ethan, the dogs owner at this time, is in love with a girl named Hannah but sadly they broke up because he broke his leg and couldn't keep up with her. But if the book is anything like the movie they will get back together in their older age.
ReplyDeleteSo can you relate to the book at all can you see yourself being friends with either characters.
DeleteI have seen the movie and loved it so much because I am a dog lover. I have a golden retriever and a Black lab. I can relate because the character had to go through perseverance in his life.
DeleteIt in a way makes me think of my dog I used to have. He used to run so much with his tiny little legs and then he tore his ACL and broke part of his leg.
DeleteIn my book the reaper the main character is a smart witty and confident person. He is a nice guy and he has a nice family his wife is really short and strong tempered. He is a great leader and he is in charge of his sniper team over seas. He was born in Texas and he is a really big fan on guns.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds very interesting is it american sniper ?
DeleteSounds like american sniper do not know for sure not a lot of info about the book. Is this in Afghanistan?
DeleteI feel that you and the reaper would be very good friends and could talk for hours.
Deletei agree with nick your the type of person that likes all that stuff so i feel like you two would get along really well!
DeleteThe main character in my book is Ted Bell he went the the major leagues right out of high school and got drafted by the Kansans City Royals. He plays third base and has a great batting average. He thought he would be starting every game but he did not start or even play the field. The Royals were losing 11-0 to the white sox so the coach had Ted bat for a guy who was doing bad. He hit a home run off one of the top pitchers in the game.
ReplyDeleteYour book sounds like it has a lot of destiny and fate considering he went straight to the major leagues and his first time batting was a home run against a veteran player.
DeleteThe main character of my books is Tucker Pierce, He is 14 years old and is strong minded e takes the time to way his option and take in all the information before deciding on what the best thing to do is. tucker describes him self as having short brown hair and being some one who blends in. He was starting tailback so I would expect him to be quite athletic. he e is motivated by his need forrevenge against the air force. he is a strong leader and people are drawn to him for that.
ReplyDeletethe main caricature in my book the californios is Eileen Mulkerin she is a very strong willed individual that has the respect of all her family members. In the book she gets her strength to get the gold because she wants to save her ranch after losing the wheat crop. She is a very strong willed individual but she is also very calm and respectful of everyone.
ReplyDeleteSounds a lot like the people of yesterdays generation, they work because they have to and do not complain.
Deletei agree with nathan as well because now a days if you want something in life you have to work for it.
DeleteI also read this book and yes he is a very tough 15 year old. The boy in my book Night is also 15 his name is Elie and is also very tough. He goes through many similar things as Ishmael beah like watching people getting burned alive and getting shot and also losing his family.
DeleteSounds like a good book. I would definitely be friends with someone like that.
DeleteI am reading a long way gone, in my book the mane character is ishmael beah. he is a young boy that flees war but is eventually brought into it. he enjoys american rap hip hop dancing and shake spear. but as the book progresses he becomes addicted to killing and drugs. I vision a tough 15 year old that is grim in the face because of hiss loss, but also numb of emotion because he can kill without feeling. i also imagine him with scars and bruses. he used to be a kind elder respecting young man but i dont know about that after the war. most of his actions are motivated by either finding his family or "avenging" his family. he is defanitly someone i woldnt want to hang around because he has faced a lot and i wouldn't want to get stabbed because he has ptsd.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read a long way gone I too envisioned a tough 15 year old who had seen a lot from war. I did really enjoy the book and the characters in the book and I hope you do too.
DeleteMy main character's name is Guy Montag. I envision him as a man in his early thirties, his job is a fireman- someone who burns books, he's strong enough to carry a container of kerosene on his back so he's not weak. Guy is a man who doesn't like his life, but has nowhere to go. The society that he lives in hate feeling anything that is not happiness and hate people that are smarter then everyone else. His only motivation is getting people to realize that feeling sad or angry is not a bad thing. Even though his goal is of good intentions, I would not hang out with him. He's still in the early stages of getting people to feel emotions, so he's angrily forcing people to hear him read to them. He has to short of a fuse to hang out with him. Just because your goal is good, that doesn't give you the right to force your ideals on people.
ReplyDeleteDearest Chase
DeleteI agree he is a strong man. However, I believe he has other motivation besides what you stated. I think he is also motivated by the books he reads and Clarisse.
Fahrenheit 451 is a really good book that I haven't read in a while. I really enjoyed the realism in Montag's character because he is really relate-able and an interesting character to read about. His story arch is also very good. I don't know which part you're on and I don't want to spoil it but Faber is also a great character that helps Montag in his time of desperation.
DeleteI really like your book.
DeleteDearest Chase,
DeleteHe seems like a nice Guy. He sounds like he would have to be strong the be a fireman. Why would someone who likes books burn them?
My main character is Louie Zamperini an Italian immigrant who lives in southern California. He was a outgoing child stealing things and running around town from the cops. His brother introduced him to running and Louie became amazing at it. He was breaking records left and right. He even qualified for the Olympics in Berlin. The narrator describes Louie as a strong willed man. Whether it's the Olympics or being stranded on a small raft for 47 days Louie will to live definitely sticks out to me the most. Louie uses his strength to live to inspire those around him to live as well. Weather it is from keeping their minds sharp so they don't lose their minds or finding extra food for everyone to eat he never gives up. His life story inspires me to never give up even when times get hard. Since Louie was an actual person I would of loved to of met such an inspiration. His will to live and his will to never give up though all the starvation, torment, and suffering is truly inspiring. Although Louie isnt the tallest, or the strongest his biggest trait is his determination. His personality of helping others before himself is truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteEven though Noah isn't based on a story of true events, he also experienced the war and seeing people die before his very own eyes. Some of those guys that died that were his best friends. And even though this isn't true events, people still go through the same stuff every day. Its eye opening to learn about it.
DeleteThe main character of my book is named Connwaer. A former street rat and thief who becomes a wizards apprentice. How I envisioned him was pretty accurate to what he actually looks like, a lanky kid with long black hair. Although I would have expected him to be natural liar and try to avoid talking about certain things, but he is actually very truthful and straightforward. Connwaer stays motivated by wanting to become a great wizard, and staying in a warm home with food as opposed to living on the cold streets. If Connwaer actually existed I think I would be friends with him, he Improved his life by trying to be his best.
ReplyDeleteThis character and Harry seem very similar because they both want to be great wizards. They also seem like they have the same type of build. I also think I would be friends with him just like I would with Harry.
DeleteMy main character is Rachel. She's thought about her 30th birthday since she was 10, and now that it's finally here she feels unsettled about her future and somewhat regretful of her past. She'd always been the straight A's, good girl, perfect best friend. She never had any crazy adventures, instead just going straight to college, taking the LSAT, straight to law school, and then right to a big law firm. Darcy (her best friend) always talks about how great high school was, but the memory makes Rachel cringe. Her high school experience wasn't horrible, but it wasn't nearly as glamorous as Darcy's. I feel for Rachel because I know what it's like to have to be the supportive friend while you watch your best friend get what you want.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds just like a movie and I feel like it would be hard to be in Rachel's position of having to see your best friend get what you want.
DeleteThis reminds me of us high schoolers. We can't wait to be older, but once your older, you look back and regret what you didn't do. You didn't have the fun you should have. You are too focused on being older, that you don't enjoy life at the age you're at. Enjoy the rest of your book!
DeleteThe main character in my book is John Kipling. He was raised in a wealthy household with a writer as a father. he has also been raised for the military. right now he is in the middle of his first battle as a second lieutenant and there was a bomb that exploded right in front of him. right now i picture John as an injured person lying on the ground helpless with blood everywhere and his face a mangled mess. I feel as if he was a cocky officer who had everything handed to him because of his father. and this makes a lot of his troops think badly about him.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book also comes from a wealthy family because her dad is the president of Nike.
DeleteThe way that you described John Kipling's face in your post reminds of the scene in saving private ryan at the very beginning when they are storming Omaha beach and everyone is just getting blasted, and everyone is just mangled and torn apart.
DeleteIn my book Hardy Collins is a 7 year old boy, he is smart for his age. He knows how to survive in the wild by himself, his father trained him well and even with a 3 year old girl to take care if as well. He is smart and knows how to read his surroundings and adapt to make it work for him. His motivation in this book to to keep moving west towards Fort Bridger or meet up with his father. If Hardy was a real person I would be friends with him.
ReplyDeletehe seems like a out doors kinda kid back when i was 7 i loved exploring the woods and he would have been a great friend to have back then because of his skill set
DeleteThis sounds very Interesting! I can relate this book to mine because Hannah is on her own a lot. Her stepmom does not care what they do. Hannah and her brother just take care of each other.
DeleteI am reading Girl, Stolen and my main characters name is Cheyenne. She was walking with her mom one day and they got hit by a car and she lost her vision and her mom died. I picture Cheyenne short and skinny with dark shoulder length hair. I picture her eyes being like blurry, like you can not tell where her pupil and iris are in her eyes. Cheyenne was kidnapped so her motivation is to get out of the house and away from the people that kidnapped her. Cheyenne interacts with those around her by talking to them and listening to their voice to tell where they are. I feel like if Cheyenne was a real person I would hang out with her because she seems like a very nice quiet girl.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I would also hang out with Cheyenne because she seems like a great person and always has your back.
DeleteI've heard a lot of examples of this actually happening in the real world. Where once they lose their ability to see, all there other senses are boosted.
DeleteI also think that I would hang out with Cheyenne in real life. I think she would be a great friend and someone I know I can always count on.
DeleteMy main character in my book is Inspector Lindsay Boxer. She is a inspector for the San Francisco Police Department and lives with her dog. Lindsay is divorced from her first husband and some what wants another man. Her motivation throughout my book is the thought of stopping the murderer that has been killing newly weds. If she was real, I would hang out with her because she is very cool and nice.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book is Miles Halter. He is a high school student who is attending a boarding school in Alabama. Although his friends call him Pudge, he is a somewhat tall and lanky kid. He is a laid back kind of person. He typically does whatever he is told to do. Although he is more of a follower, he notices things that others might not. He likes to ask questions, some he might not want an answer too. His motivation is his love for Alaska. Whenever he does stuff, its always to impress Alaska. He is nice to everyone in the book. He doesn't try to cause drama but always seems to get wrapped up in it. Miles adds love into the story. He falls in love with his friend Alaska even though she is in a relationship with someone else. If Miles were someone who went to my school, I don't think him and I would be friends. He is not outgoing and has a hard time making friends. I would probably not go out of my way to get to know him.
ReplyDeleteI understand where you are coming from when you say that you would not go out of your way to be his friend sometimes opposites attract.
DeleteI understand where you are coming from. I would rather have a friend who is easy to become friends with and isn't afraid to go out of their way.
DeleteI'm reading the book Return with Honor by Captain Scott O'Grady. Scott is the main character and he is very intelligent he is also very determined when he sets a goal. I envision Scott as a very friendly person. I also envision Scott as a person that is well in shape and stays in shape. Scott uses getting back home to see his family for his motivation. Scott was very friendly when he was around people. If Scott was around i would hang out with him because i bet he has some interesting stories to tell.
ReplyDeleteScott seems like a good guy he seems like the main character in my book. Rick loves coming home to his family and he to uses his family for motivation to come back from war in one piece.
DeleteScott seems like a great guy to be around and would also like to hear some of his stories he as. He sounds like the main character in my book. Walker is very determined when he sets his goal of returning to state for swimming. Walker is also in good shape because he is on the swimming team and just got done with Stotan Week were they go through very difficult exercises for an entire week and is in the best shape of his life.
DeleteScott seems like a great person to be around and very friendly. My main character Harry also uses his family as a motivation tool in the book.
DeleteMy main character's name is Guy Montag. As a profession he is a fireman, so I imagine him as someone who is well built, gruff man. He seems like more of a free spirited person who is open to other people's opinions. He gets motivation from a young girl named Clarisse and books. If I was in the same society as him, I would not want to hang out with him or be his friend because everyone seems to be afraid of firemen because they burn people's houses down.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Wonder and the main character in my book is August Pullman. I can't really imagine what August looks like because I have seen previews of the movie and pictures. August has a deformed face and he has the condition called mandibulofacial dysostosis also known as treacher Collins syndrome. August is a very nice, funny, strong, and brave kid. I feel like August has a lot of motivation to get through the day and not to let people get to him. People do get to him sometimes, but by now he is used to it most of the time and doesn't make a huge deal about it. August is kind of a shy kid at first, but if you first talking to him August will warm up to you. Having August as the main character adds drama, laugher, and bravery. Having August be in school has brought drama with people at school and the students parents. He also brings laughter because of his jokes and sometimes the laughs can be negative too. Lastly bravery because he has been through so much, not just all of the surgeries he has been through, but also how he can still be positive even though he knows he gets made fun of all the time. If August was to be a kid at my school in my grade I would never be disrespectful to him and I genially think I would hang out with him at school because if he is a nice person I'm not going to judge a book by its cover. If the kid has the same characteristics has August I would like him.

DeleteDear Ben,
DeleteI agree with the fact that I wouldn't want to be friends with Guy, but not for the same reason. Guy is trying to force books onto people, Mildred's friends, and though he realized it was stupid afterward, it didn't give him the right to force them to listen to him read when they clearly felt threatened by him and wanted to leave. I hope that you enjoyed the novel.
I Think that August is a really brave person for being home schooled and then having to go to normal school thats a really big change.
DeleteThe main Character in my book is named Rick he graduated high school. He got a job at the family tool shop. He did not like his job because it was boring. Rick considers him self to be just an average american. He had about a c average and did the bare minimum to graduate high school. I would definitely be friends with rick because he is very nice and laid back and at the same time hes got your back no matter what.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackson, Rick sounds like a great guy! if you think rick would always have your back that would make him an even better friend! Charlie from my book has two very close friends sam and patrick. they are always there for eachother and there are great friends
Deletedid he grow up poor or did he just not want to go farther in schooling? sounds kinda boring thought to be honest
DeleteIn my book there are 2 friends by the names of Scott and Chris that have each others back no matter what happens to them. So I can relate to this book because of the friendships that these kids have going.
DeleteMy main character is Brian. I envision Brian as a nice young kid but was going through a hard time because his parents just got divorced. Brian seems like the more quiet person because he doesn't talk much in the first part of the book. Hes gets motivated because the plane hes on goes down in the woods and he knows he needs to keep it together if he wants to survive and get out of the woods. If Brian was a real person i would probably hangout with him because he survived in the wilderness by himself for a couple months and that takes skill and it would be cool to learn some of the stuff he did.
ReplyDeleteBrian in a way reminds me of myself. My parents also got a divorce and i'm a quiet person.
DeleteWalker is the main character in the novel Stotan! I envision Walker as a tall, bulk, and handsome young man with a kind and caring personality. Walker uses a variety of things for motivation such as swimming, his coach Max, and his friends to make himself a better person and to get back to state for swimming. Walker interacts with friends like any other group of friends, they mess around with each other, motivate one other, and always have each other's backs. Walker adds character to the story because he is always trying to the what is best for him or his friends like when he took his friend Nortie in because he isn't living with his dad anymore. If Walker existed today I would definitely hang out with because he cares for the people around him and that is what makes a good friend and yes I would like him.
ReplyDeleteHi James, like walker Charlie from my book has friends that care for him and make him a better person also. The impacted of friends has a huge impact on charlies life and i hope they keep their friends forever.
DeleteIn my book Scott also receives help from Chris so he doesn't get bullied, but Chris also has dyslexia but nobody knows it and he tells Scott because Scott is extremely smart so Scott is going to help Chris pass his classes as well. So I can see how are books somewhat relate.
DeleteIn the Returned there are many main characters but the one I enjoy the most is Harold Hargrave who is the father of Jacob Hargrave who is a Returned. Harold is about 72 years old, is a heavy smoker, and not much of a religious type. When Jacob comes back from the dead, Harold tries to spend as much time away from Jacob as possible because Harold found his son's body 50 years ago and all he sees in Jacob when he comes back is that memory ever lingering in his thoughts. Harold reminds me of my father because they're both very factual and down to earth. Even when they're both arguing about different things, my dad and Harold have many similar traits in personality. I feel like that's why my father recommended this book to me because he relates to Harold.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in Promise Not To Tell is Kate Cypher. She is forty one years old and is a school nurse in Seattle. I envision Kate as a nice and kind woman. Also envision her to be great with kids. Some personality traits that Kate has shown throughout the book would be easy going and passionate towards helping her mother with her disease. Something that Kate adds to the story would be passion towards finding her best friend's killer. If I was in the same society as Kate, I would hang out with her because I want to help her find her old friend's killer and the motive that he or she has towards Del. I would like Kate because she seem like a very genuine person to be around with.
ReplyDeleteSounds very interesting.
DeleteShe sounds like my main character Libby! She's caring to anyone and has strong friendships
DeleteThe main character in my book is Hannah Gray. Hannah is a young girl who is seeing things in her stepmothers house. I picture Hannah short and with brown hair also depends on her brother a lot. Hannah is motivated to find out what is bothering her in Edith house. Hannah interacts very well with others she uses them to find out if they know anything about the house Edith moved into. Hannah adds suspense to the book that makes it hard to put it down like when she see people in the house. If Hannah existed I don't think I would be a close friend to her because I feel she could bring it to your house or something. But I would like her personality.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book "The Last Lecture" Randy Pausch is a very inspirational eye opening human being who was taken off this earth all to soon. Randy's personality throughout this whole book, and what I would imagine his whole life is someone who lifts others up. Helps everyone he meets conquer their dreams. I would love to hang out with Randy if he were still alive today. It would just be so interesting to pick his brain on the way he views the world. I think it is a shame that cancer got the best of him and he left this world. However he left this world with a big mark of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOur books kind of relate because he helps other conquer there dreams. Our characters bring the best out of the people they meet and I think that is supper cool. Your book sounds like a book I would like to read and sounds very interesting.
DeleteThe main character in my book is Eliezer. i imagine that he is medium size and looks older than he really is. He uses staying alive and seeing his mom and sister again as motivation in the story. without the character in the story it wouldn't be the same.
ReplyDeleteMy main character is Tim Grover he is a trainer in Chicago. He has trained the best and knows what it takes to be the best. He helps player gain mental toughness and really test them and push them to the limit. I envision him as kind of a ass sorry but he is the toughest trainers out there and his guys do not like him when they are done. Michael Jordan said to him if he ever sees him in his neighborhood he will punch them in the face because MJ is done working out and Tim Grovers workouts literally push your body to the limit. His personalty is good and serious his workouts are not a joke and if the player doesn't take them serious he will kick them out. His motivation in my book are 3 words cooler, closer, and Cleaner. He interacts with the best and doesn't bow down to them no he is serious with them and want to bring out their best. He adds the craziest stories in the book that are crazy and really interesting. He exist and I defiantly go see him and would want to workout with him. I would love hi motor and serious to get his players better.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds very exciting! Hopefully the book is going well for you!
DeleteThere are two main characters but one is slightly more important than the other, Hannah. Hannah is a senior in high school. I envision her as the girl on the right of the cover of my book. She has long dark hair with bangs, a turn up nose, with small lips, and skinny. Hannah seems like a very quiet person. You can tell she’s a very caring and loyal friend. She has a best friend, Zoe, who has bipolar disorder and a couple of other illnesses. Right now in my book Zoe is trying to talk Hannah into running away. Hannah tries do disagree but then Zoe tells her that her mom is trying to check her into the mental institute. Hannah then agrees to run away because she is scared for Zoe. If Hannah truly existed in the world I would be friends with her and hang out. I do like, Hannah. She in a way reminds me of myself. She has a friend who does not have an easy life and she really cares about Zoe.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good book! It's unique. Hannah seems really caring for her friend, Zoe, and would do anything to save her. Enjoy the rest of your book!
DeleteMy main character's mother also passed away! Jessie seems to be confident like my character Libby, and is a genuine friend.
DeleteThe main character in my book Night is Elie Wiesel. He is a 15 year old jew who had the same life as anyone else until the Germans came. His physical characteristics are not anything unique he is a young boy who likes to use most of his time studying different religions. He has a great personality he is always nice to everyone and he doesn't like to not be able to do something or told that things are to hard for him so he never gives up. When Elie and his family get taken away and put through very rough times his biggest motivation is his father. In the camps he likes to stick to just him and his father he never really talked to anyone else and just focused on keeping is father alive although he did find a few friends he talked to in the same situation as him. My main character adds everything to the book without him this book probably wouldn't exist. He tells us his own life story of what happened with every little detail. If he existed in my time I would definitely like him and be his friend and get to know him in person.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book Night is Elie Wiesel. Elie is a 15 year old Jewish boy who had a pretty ordinary life until the nazis came and took him and his family to Auschwitz. I envision him as a pretty tall kid considering he lied to the officer and told him that he was 18. later on in the book i see him as being bruised ans skinny and weak. If he was around now i feel like we wouldn't really talk. We would just pass each other as complete strangers.
ReplyDeleteThe main character in my book is Harry Potter. He is a young boy who attends Hogwarts, and he just turned 13. Some of his physical characteristics are black long hair, not very tall, and a small build. He has one unique characteristic which is the scar on his forehead which he got when he was a baby. Harry has a great personality and usually gets along with almost everybody. He is always respectful and takes responsibility in the book. There are some kids that he doesn't get along with usually. His motivation is his parents since they died when he was just a baby. He wants to get revenge on the person who had killed them. A lot of the things he does in the book he thinks about his parents when doing it. My main character adds the whole story to the book without his background their wouldn't be a story. I think if he existed in the real world we would be friends and get along well.
ReplyDeleteThe Main Character in my book after you is Louisa Clark. I see her as a younger girl that is going through a rough time due to loss, but along with that see her as a nice a caring person also clumsy at times. The thing that posses lou to keep going is will. he keeps her going even though he not really there. If there was lou at my school i think that we would get along because of her funny and her way how sh does things.
ReplyDeleteShe seems like a very nice girl. I think that I would also get a long with her. I feel like she could connect with all of us in many different way.
DeleteJessie is the main character of my book. She is a sixteen year old girl who is originally from Chicago. I envision Jessie as a dainty little girl who is a nice girl most of the time. She seems to have a sassy side to her and she isn't afraid to show it most of the time. In my book, her nice yet sassy personality fits in great for her new school. The school she goes to is a very "snotty" school. In the book, her motivation to keep going and persue her dreams is her mother. Although her mother passed away she still uses her as a motivation. With others around her, she is pretty quiet and tries not to bring much attention to herself. My main character adds to the story how everyone has a different life and struggles they go through in their lifetime. If this person did exist in my world I would have no problem hanging out with her. I would hold nothing against her because I don't know what happens inside her house or outside of me knowing. I would like this person because she seems nice and like a true friend.
ReplyDeleteShe seems like a very interesting character to read about, and someone I would get along with
DeleteMy main character is a dog. His name is Cujo and he's a Saint Bernard. In the beginning of the book he is the sweetest dog and won't hurt a fly. I think of him as bigger than the average dog. When he got rabbies, he turned into a monster. He was out for blood and he knew what he was doing was wrong but couldn't stop himself. I imagine him with foam coming out of his mouth. His eyes bright red and puffy. His fur all matted up and falling out.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good dog that seems to have stumbled on some bad luck. Saint Bernards are some of my favorite breeds of dogs.
Deleteit sounds to me like he did not want to be the monster he became but could not stop himself he probably went through some mental struggle in the process of overcoming this challenge.
DeleteTasha, is a thirty-year-old English woman working as a television producer in London. She is perpetually single and has had few long-term relationships. She and her girlfriends regularly meet and commiserate over the troubles of modern dating. Tasha's insecurities in regards to men and dating stem from her longest relationship, with a man named Simon, that ended abruptly when Simon revealed that he had been unfaithful. In addition, it is revealed that Tasha's father had had multiple affairs during Tasha's youth, one of which she discovered herself. Tasha engages in brief affairs with men, concerned primarily with their physical attractiveness. One day she meets a handsome, dashing man named Andrew, but avoids being seduced by him.
ReplyDeleteThere are two main characters in Holding up the Universe, as the chapters alternate views. Libby Strout was known as the "world's fattest teen" and had to be cut out of her home. She lost her mother to an unknown cause, and stress took over her body. Jack Masselin is a softy with a tough exterior, pretending to be someone he is not. He has a neurological disorder where he is unable to recognize faces, even the faces of his family. Libby is bullied for being different, and Jack was one of the bullies. Jack has everyone in school wrapped around his finger because of popularity, but his place goes down once he hangs around Libby more and gets close to her. I would definitely be friends with Libby but Jack maybe not. Libby is sweet and has confidence through the roof and I admire that. I wish I could be myself and look how I want without being afraid of the judgement that comes from my fellow classmates, but that's difficult. I wouldn't be the best of friends with Jack just because of the way he acts around his friends, while being completely different when you're alone with him.
ReplyDeleteIn my book the Returned relates well to Night, because both characters have a very well established relationship with their fathers and both are treated poorly by the people who run the camps in Night, and the jail that my characters are in.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book "Black Ice". The main character of my book's name is Britt. She has brown long hair. She's 16-17 years old. I envision her as a really pretty girl. She has a strong bond with her family so she's not a weak person. She is very careful about trusting. She is nice. The motivation in my book is the will to survive. Not to depend on others, but to survive all by herself. She is very cautious after the turn of events that recently happened. My main character adds emotion to the book. Everything she's thinking adds emotion. It changes the mood of the story throughout. I would definitely hang out with her because she's a lot like me. I would really like her, because i wouldn't feel alone knowing there's someone similar to me.
ReplyDeleteI am reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The main character is Charlie is a boy that is just starting highschool. He is a great kid but he is kinda messed up right now from his best friends sucide and the death of his aunt helen. i think of charlie as a littler kinda scrawny guy. he is as kind as he can be to everyone. in the book his motivation is his friends. when his friends arent around he isnt himself and starts feeling down. Charlie adds a lot to the story because he is a highschooler that is a great person but also i think has some minor mental problems. im not sure if i would hang out with him in real life. he is a awesome person so that would make me want to! but yes i do think i would like him
ReplyDeleteMy character also has mental problems because his father has hidden him away from the world and beat him and trained him to feel ashamed of himself and unimportant.
DeleteI read this book last year and really enjoyed it. The whole plot and story line kept me interested and couldn't stop reading it. I hope you enjoy this book as much as i did!
Deletei too have multiple characters and am totally down with the idea becasue it gives multiple views.
DeleteMy main character is Tobias, but his nickname is Four, he is initially from the faction known as abnegation, but he transferred to the faction known as dauntless and graduated at the top of his class of initiates. Shortly after he was offered a chance to take a position in the factions leadership. He makes friends with all of his class of initiates, except a certain kid named Eric, who came second in the class. If he existed in my life I would get inspiration from him because he is a high achiever and strives to be the best.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this whole series when I read it, and I think you'll like it too. I would have said, though, that Tris would be the main character with her being the narrator. I also think that he would inspire me if he was in this world, I am someone who would want a person like him to look up to.
DeleteIn my book Two Minute Drill the main character named Scott comes to a new school but gets bullied and wants to try out or the football team. Scott is not good at football but loves to play it and the quarterback on his team named Chris Conlan becomes friends with Scott. For Scott's whole life he has been a really good kid in school and was really smart, to where Chris tells Scott one day that he has terrible grades and has dyslexia, and he has 20 days to get his grades up otherwise he has to quit football. So Scott comes up with an idea to where if Chris teaches Scott how to play football for the 20 days then Scott will help Chris with his grades. And the only thing that keeps Scott and Chris going in life is football because Chris hates that he has a problem and can't read and Scott hates it when he gets bullied.
ReplyDeletei feel like i would get along with this person because we felt the same way for football
DeleteMy book play makers the main character is Ben. when you see a kid like this in a book all that you can think about is you at that age. his dream to be a big sports athlete is almost identical as everyone elses. he is mentally tough and knows he has to work hard to get the things he wants in life. the whole book he is driven to make pro basketball. i feel me and ben would get along very well.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Night. The book is about a Jewish boy who in currently living in the holocaust. I envision him a a young man at 15, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. His personality is strong and quiet. I say strong because he sees many things and has to witness many things/acts throughout the book. He witnesses babies being tossed into the fire, getting separated from his family, people being killed right by his side. he is also beat with a whip. He is also known as a number in the camp, instead of by his name. I believe he seems like a very nice kid that I would be friends with, if I was his age.
ReplyDeleteMy main character is Penelope. She's a sassy but classy girl who rules the school with her brown, perfectly curled hair, and big, bright brown eyes. Most of her motivation would be her Larks group and her boyfriend. She tries to help the Larks in the bad times they are having while keeping them going, and as for her boyfriend she tries to show him she's worth his time and so she works hard with him. If she existed in our world, I think I would hang out with her. She seems to be the type I would hang out with being she's all sassy and stuff. We seem to be a lot alike in the fact of being sassy and a few of her other traits.
ReplyDeleteI dont actually have a main Character my book follows several different people an there lives and struggles that may tie together with others in the story but otherwise it is all around a murder mystery.
ReplyDeleteI get where your coming from in the sense of mystery, I dont even have a main character sounds cool.
ReplyDelete
